Green Smoothies Life Hacks: 14 Effortless Tips [Healthy]

Here you will find everything about green smoothies: useful ingredients, tips to make it easier for yourself and at the end you will find very nice life hacks to make it easyer to incorporate green smoothies in your life.

Green smoothies are healthy and easy!

Green leafy vegetables provide you with minerals, protein, vitamins, anti-oxidants and fiber. They also counteract ‘acidification’ in your body. Your body is therefore purified of toxins that can accumulate through, for example, processed food and pollution in the air.

You will quickly feel fitter, less fatigued and healthier thanks to green smoothies! If you drink them every day, then you are taking a cleansing detox cure that also helps with weight loss.

Moreover, it is super easy:

  • Half the work is done with frozen vegetables and fruit.
  • The blender cleans itself when you turn it on with water in it.
  • Just washing and peeling fruit and vegetables is fun and it doesn’t take long at all.
  • Not much can go wrong if you have used an extra beet or an apple too little.

Tip 1 – Put a lot of vegetables in it with a little sweet fruit for the taste (drinkability)

Be economical with fruit. Of course fruit is good and your blood sugar level hardly rises from one fruit, but from many fruit at the same time your blood sugar rises quickly. So strive not to keep your smoothie too sweet, but drinkable.

Tip 2 – Rotate with the ingredients

It is not healthy to eat the same type of vegetables over and over again. For example, don’t take spinach as a main ingredient every day.

Tip 3 – Organic = more minerals and building materials

Organic vegetables not only have less pesticides, they are also healthier in their own right because of the way they have been grown. This has often happened in a different type of soil.

Tip 4 – Add the seeds and pulp (the white of the skin)

The great thing about smoothies is that you can now just keep the pieces that you normally have to throw away. The white of the skin is extremely healthy. The seeds of some fruits are also healthy, but normally too difficult to eat. For example that of the papaya. These can be ground well with a blender.

Google in advance per piece of fruit whether the seeds and the white of the skin are edible . Lemon seeds, for example, are not edible.

Tip 5 – Make it easy for yourself with frozen fruit

Whether you buy frozen fruit in a bag or box or freeze fruit yourself, it gives you a feeling that it will be little effort when you see that half the work has already been done and the blender is half filled before you start anything have to wash or cut.

Tip 6 – How much water should I use?

Often a glass is enough, but you never have to follow the recipe exactly. Maybe you like a thicker or thinner smoothie. By the way, never use juice, but plain water. With juice you get too much sugar.

Tip 7 – Alternatives to water as a liquid (fat is also healthy)

You can also choose not to use water, but for example full-fat yogurt, (homemade) almond milk or cashew milk.

Tip 8 – Sometimes just add a lot of red colors

green smoothie also red with berries

Sometimes the eye wants something too. Smoothies are not only tasty: they can also sometimes have a very beautiful summer or winter color. Smoothies have always been beautiful, but beets and blueberries are the most colorful ‘red-ish’ ingredients.

Tip 9 – Make a lot, but drink extremely slowly for better absorption

The nice thing about making smoothies yourself is that you can make a lot. You get four large glasses from a blender! Much more than those small packages when you buy them ready-made.

But … humans are not actually built to consume five servings of fruit and vegetables at once. So drink the smoothie as slowly as possible and let it mix well with your saliva.

Tip 10 – Following recipes or by feeling?

Both are good. Feel free to follow a recipe, but if the recipe says that you should also add an apple for every beetroot while you are used to much less sweetness, then you can of course add much more beets than apples by feeling. Nothing can go wrong. In addition, it is very nice to have a book with recipes in the kitchen.

Tip 11 – Vegetable smoothie without fruit but still tasty?

Lemon is a good solution. You can just add a whole lemon to the blender, peeled and seeded.

Tip 12 – Add oats or seeds, such as hemp seeds or flax seeds (but don’t use it as a full breakfast)

Oats and seeds make the smoothie more filling. However, a green smoothie is no substitute for breakfast. Have at least a few more eggs or other forms of fat, such as a butter toast or an avocado.

Tip 13 – This is your chance to take the ‘hard to eat’ healthy fruits!

A lemon or cranberries are super healthy, but may be difficult to eat because they have a harsh taste. You will not notice it in your smoothie! For example, peel a lemon, take out the seeds and throw it in completely.

Tip 14 – Try out something yourself with these ingredients
